This Easy Homemade Muesli is a breakfast that’s healthier than granola and packed full of nutrition from nuts, seeds, and dried fruits!
There are some foods that you never forget the first time you had them. Muesli is one of them for me. I was living in Italy where breakfast is sweet. As a fruit and eggs breakfast eater, I was lost. Eggs? Never. Fruit? Blank stares. Toast? Only if it has Nutella. The best I could compromise for from my hosts was muesli and yogurt. And omg muesli. I was. In. Love. Oats, dried fruits, and nuts. This Easy Homemade Muesli is takes me back to my days in Italy and also gives my girls a delicious, healthy cereal!
One the of the best things about making an Easy Homemade Muesli is that it’s totally customizable. Oats. Nuts/seeds. Dried fruits. That’s it, that’s all you need and whatever you have on hand. Because it’s blueberry season, we had some fresh picked blueberries that we dehydrated which was perfect for this! (And some of our Blueberry Almond Granola!)
For this batch, I opted for oats with pepitas, pecans, almonds, chia seeds, dried blueberries, and dried dates.
Fresh fruit makes everything better, doesn’t it? There were some gorgeous organic raspberries on sale at our favorite grocery store this week so I tossed those in, too.
I. Love. This. Cereal. Not only for me, but M loves it too! She normally eats overnight oats with fruit for breakfast during the week. Which is great, but then if I don’t remember to put it together the night before, Lord knows I don’t have time to make it in the morning. But I DO have time to toss some muesli in a bowl for her, which is infinitely better than a sugar cereal out of a box! Healthy, wholesome, from scratch breakfast in a pinch, DONE.
Easy Homemade Muesli! It makes breakfast super fast, super easy, and suuuuuuuper nutritious!
Don’t forget, friends. Breakfast is the most important part of the day! Whether you like cereals like this, or our Copycat Kashi Go Lean Crunch Cereal, Blueberry Almond Granola, or something more savory like Avocado Baked Eggs or Turmeric Spinach and Eggs, don’t forget to start your day right!
