We love a classic combo in this house, which is why we love this new sandwich wrap recipe, our Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap! It’s an incredibly flavorful chicken Caesar salad but in a soft flour tortilla wrap so you can eat your favorite salad recipe with your hands!

Ingredients Needed

lettuce, raw chicken, tortillas, Caesar dressing, oil, cheese, salt pepper, garlic, lemon zest, and lemon pepper seasoning.
  • Chicken – Boneless breasts are the best cut for this and you can either get thick-cut breasts and cut them in half, or you can use tenderloins or breast fillets, too.
  • Romaine Lettuce – The classic crisp refreshing lettuce for a Caesar salad!
  • Caesar Dressing – Did you know how easy it is to make yourself? But don’t worry, you can use your favorite, too!
  • Flour Tortillas – The wrap of this sandwich wrap!
  • Olive Oil, Garlic, Salt and Pepper, and Lemon Zest – For the marinade!
  • Parmesan Cheese – Shaved is what we love best for this recipe, but you could use shredded or whatever you prefer in your Caesar salad!
  • Lemon Pepper Seasoning – This is what took these salad wraps to the next level! It’s just the right amount of flavor added to the “salad” before it’s added to the wrap! Go the extra mile and make your own!

Tips for a Tight Wrap

Soften your Tortillas

One of the most important parts of a nice tight wrap roll is having a nice soft, pliable tortilla. To ensure this, steam your tortillas in either a steamer basket or in the microwave with a damp paper towel. Just add the damp towel to the top of your tortilla and microwave for 10-15 seconds.

Add your filling to the center

Use some tongs or a couple of forks to grab that chicken Caesar salad and add a healthy helping to the center of your tortilla.

Fold up each side

Next, grab each side of the burrito and gently fold them in over the top of your filling in the center of the tortilla.

Fold up the bottom

Keep those folded sides down and then fold up the bottom of the tortilla, so that it comes just over the filling.

Tuck it under the filling

Tuck the bottom of the tortilla under the filling so that it’s nice and tight over the filling, all while making sure your edges are still folded down.

Finish with a tight roll

With that bottom part of the tortilla tucked under, give the rest a tight roll, again, keeping those edges in.

Salad Wraps

Instructions

  • Marinate Chicken: Add all of the marinade ingredients to a large plastic bag, add the chicken, seal, and then mix it all in the bag with your hands.
Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Cook Chicken: Heat a cast iron skillet or other large frying pan to medium-high and add 2 teaspoons of olive oil. Turn heat down to medium and add chicken. Cook on one side for about 4-5 minutes before flipping to cook the other for another 4 minutes until done and the internal temperature of the thickest part of the chicken reaches at least 165 degrees F.
Remove the chicken from the pan and let it rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Make the Salad: Add lettuce to a large bowl with lemon pepper seasoning and Parmesan cheese and give a quick mix.
When the chicken is ready, add chicken and dressing and mix well.
  • Steam Tortillas: Add one flour tortilla to a plate and place a damp half of a paper towel over it. Add the second tortilla and then another damp paper towel. Do this with the remaining tortillas. Place in microwave and cook for 15 seconds. This will slightly steam the tortillas so they're nice and pliable.
  • Wrap: Take one tortilla and place it on a large plate or flat surface. Add 1/4 of the salad to the center of the tortilla. Fold up the sides then bring the bottom of the tortilla up over the filling, tightly tucking it under the filling, ensuring that the sides are still folded. Tightly wrap, keeping the sides of the tortilla tucked in for a nice tight roll.
  • Serve: Slice in half to serve or serve whole. Enjoy!

Notes

Substitutions
Chicken: Use chicken breasts or chicken tenderloins or chicken breast fillets.
Caesar Dressing: Add some serious from-scratch flair by making your own Caesar dressing, or use your favorite premade dressing.
Lemon Pepper Seasoning: Use your favorite although we suggest making your own to control sodium level.
Storage
Wraps: Store in the fridge for up to two days. After two days the lettuce will start to lose its crunch and the wrap gets a little soggy.
Chicken: Cook the chicken in advance and store it in the fridge for 2-3 days before adding to the salad and wraps.
This is a great lunch to make the night before to then take to work or school.
