I think one of the best things about learning to cook from scratch is discovering of how simple so many things are. Prime example: taco seasoning. Sure, it’s super easy to buy those pre-mixed packets for super fast seasoning of the meat for your homemade tacos, but you know what’s also super fast? Making your own Homemade Taco Seasoning.Even better, I mostly had everything we needed already in our spice drawer: chili powder, cumin, hot paprika, ground coriander, cayenne, salt, and cornstarch. I did have to make a quick New Seasons run to pick up more chili powder but their bulk spice section is amazing and so much cheaper than buying spices in jars; it cost me less than a dollar.Once I had the cast of characters assembled, it was literally just a matter of measuring them out and dumping them in a jar. A little bit of this, a little bit of that……until we had some
sand taco seasoning art. With a good shake…… we had ourselves some Homemade Taco Seasoning in less than 5 minutes. So now whenever we have a taco craving, we have our own pre-mixed taco seasoning for seasoning our tacos just as fast as it takes to open a store bought package. So easy! And apparently kind of messy, at least for a person who apparently has difficulty pouring teaspoons and tablespoons into a jar 😉
